Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a Sales Director to join us and lead a team of c.100 including field sales, internal sales, sales enablement, trade sales, and digital services retention teams. Working in our Education division, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth across primary, secondary, children and home sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the sales team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Ensure Education UK sales strategies are aligned with market trends, business objectives, long term revenue growth and market share targets
  • Identify, evaluate and prioritise opportunities in key market segments to formulate sales plans, set KPIs and monitor progress
  • Proactively manage budgets, forecasts and timelines with Sales Managers
  • Analyse market data to identify market trends and opportunities
  • Work with the sales team to improve customer retention and identify upsell opportunities
  • Share customer feedback, and advocate for products that solve customer pain points and improve customer experience
  • Manage and monitor sales operational effectiveness, implementing sales enablement initiatives to equip the sales team

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. 

About You

With significant sales experience already, you’ll be a strong leader with experience of change management, business modelling and account management. You’ll also have:  

  • Proven track record of setting and leading sales strategy, managing budgets, achieving sales growth and exceeding sales targets
  • Strong customer focus and ability to rapidly develop and execute plans in response to developing market opportunities.
  • Expertise in driving optimum CRM use and data analysis in order to assess business opportunities and performance and respond accordingly.
  • Demonstrable leadership, people management, influencing and networking
  • Proven success of business development, including designing and implementing innovative business models and partnerships
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
  • Strong ethical awareness and personal integrity

Knowledge of the UK Education sector is desirable.
