SALES EXECUTIVE - GROUPS & TRAVEL TRADE
Our client is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle & Gardens.
Departments: Trade and Group Sales
Home Palace: HM Tower of London, with some requirement to visit the other palaces.
Status: Established/Permanent
Salary: £30,827 Per Annum
Days/Hours of work: Full time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
About the role
They are a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. They create space for spirits to stir and be stirred.
The Travel Trade and Groups sector comprised 27% of all visitors that them welcomed to their extraordinary sites in 2023, and this role will be integral in negotiating new business from their existing customers in the UK groups market, student, and youth sector, as well as prospecting and converting new business opportunities in these areas to meet their commercial targets and objectives.
As part of the Group and Travel Trade Sales team, you will oversee key accounts in the domestic coach and global youth markets, developing business from these accounts and developing new business from contacts made at trade fairs and workshops. You will assist in day-to-day enquiry handling and general Customer Relationship Management (CRM) with Trade and Group clients.
You will be required to communicate with all areas and departments of the organisation (including the Contact Centre, Events, Catering, Marketing, Retail, Membership and Palace Operations teams), working closely with them to ensure they are accurately presenting their products and events to clients in a timely and appealing manner.
You will be responsible for ensuring that clients adhere to their contracted terms and conditions and will support them with client training and updates for our Ticketing System and booking processes.
About you
The role requires someone with excellent planning and organisational skills, as well as key account management and negotiation experience. Your articulate and accurate manner will convey your confidence when dealing with your clients online and face-to-face. A creative thinker, you will be able to grow the value of each enquiry as you work with clients to develop tours and itineraries that feature palace visits and ancillary services.
You will need to be an experienced sales operator with knowledge in B2B distribution and sales channels, and you will use your experience to identify commercial opportunities that will help in growing their financial headroom to fulfil their charitable cause to become a charity for everyone.
Working in a small team, you will be collaborative and proactive in offering ideas and taking on suggestions.
