Job description

The Sales and Product Manager will play a key role in the establishment and development of a new sub-division specialising in commercial funding, initially focused on merchant cash advance but with a view to expanding our offering to include other sources of funding.

The Sales and Product Manager will be responsible for all day-to-day sales and supplier management activity, as well as the establishment of relationships with potential new funding partners, and will play a key role in the development of the division’s growth strategy.

Responsibilities of the role

Divisional Strategy

  • Take ownership of the Commercial Funding P&L; retain a complete understanding of divisional performance and develop strategies/tactics to grow value and improve efficiency
  • Provide regular commentary and insight
  • Identify and form relationships with potential new partners for lending / funding products.
  • Develop business cases for divisional growth/expansion plans, including formation of potential new 3rd party partnerships
  • Working with Chief Marketing Officer, develop an effective multi-channel contact strategy.

Operational Management

  • Optimisation of divisional sales and non-sale processes
  • Create and agree business requirements for technology integration projects. Bringing the lending product portfolio into operational workflows within relevant CRM environment
  • Management of existing partner relationships

Sales Management

  • Lead and manage the Commercial Funding sales team to deliver against volume and value-based targets
  • Ensure accurate dispositions are obtained from sales calls to inform potential initiatives to reduce sales drop-out
  • Recruit and maintain appropriate headcount aligned to departmental budget
  • Develop appropriate training and coaching plans to develop individuals within the team and ensure ability to deliver to targets

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a high-volume sales management role
  • Significant experience in either business cash advance or other lending/funding products
  • Track record of delivery to sales targets
  • Demonstrable experience in the development of growth / sales efficiency initiatives
  • Supplier / partner management experience (preferred)
