Salary A Technical Illustrator is required to support a challenging programme, with a requirement for delivering technical publications for Electronic Warfare (EW) equipment, used by the Royal Navy that will ultimately shape the future of sea warfare.
The technical publications team have a requirement for a Technical Illustrator who is capable of originating graphics that comply with S1000D, who have an interest in developing skills in 3D multimedia. You will use global leading graphic/multimedia software. Training will be provided to exploit the full software capability. Graphics will be developed in compliance with the international specification for Technical Publications, ASD-S1000D Issue 4.1. This role is hybrid with occasional travel to Bristol and Devonport. Please note that this role is inside IR35 and will require working via an FCSA approved umbrella company.
Skills and Experience:
*You will be well versed with supporting defence equipment. Previous experience supporting mechanical / electrical / communication systems shall be beneficial. You will support the Technical Author to research and analyse complex technical information to produce high quality technical documentation which will enable an end-user to operate and maintain the equipment correctly and safely.
* S1000D Issue 4.1 (Mandated) and S2000M (Desirable)
* Isometric / 2D Illustrations (Mandated)
* Animation (3D) (Desirable)
* CSDB / IETP Management using EAGLE Toolset (Desirable)
* Adobe Acrobat Professional (Desirable)
* 3D CAD (Mandated)
You should be familiar with:
* Desktop publishing including Adobe Acrobat and MS Office
* Digital imaging software
* Spreadsheets.
