Our client is seeking to appoint an Admin Manager Cover to oversee the lesson cover needs of an outstanding secondary school in Cambridgeshire.

Your interpersonal skills will be excellent, and you will be able to work under pressure. An ability to effectively plan, oversee co-ordination of and strategically deploy daily cover routines will be a core to your working remit. Confidentiality is a must, as is a high level of numeracy and literacy.

The post holder will oversee the smooth running of cover operations within the school. (Full and comprehensive training will be given for the requirements of this role). The successful candidate will display excellent organisation, time management and planning skills, have strong administrative skills and pay good attention to detail.

Line of Responsibility: The Admin Manager Cover is directly responsible to the Deputy Principal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise daily cover both in advance and at short term notice.
  • Book request for cover.
  • Book and arrange room change requests.
  • Photocopy documents for requests for cover.
  • Liaise with teaching staff.
  • Liaise with cover teachers and cover supervisors.
  • Provide line management for cover supervisors.
  • Liaise with Supply Agency and Agency staff.
  • Enter cover on the computer system.
  • Administer time and pay sheets for regular non-agency supply staff.
  • Complete regular analysis of cover, producing regular reports for SLG/Governors.
  • Liaise with relevant members of SLG over any relevant cover issues.
  • Provide comprehensive knowledge of daily school routine and pupil information.
  • Check school calendars for any upcoming events which might require cover or room changes.
  • Lead on appropriate recruitment, induction, and training needs for the cover team
  • Any other general admin duties when required.
