About the role:

Created due to internal promotion, the role leads a team of schedulers and administrators who are responsible for the planning and crew logistics required to place and onboard circa 2500 shipboard employees globally across 15 Cruise lines and 90 ships.  You will lead by example, demonstrating exceptional abilities to define and deliver quality performance metrics and service levels.  As a team, Scheduling and Onboarding sits at the core of Harding+, and has a huge impact on business performance, customer service, and operational costs.

The role is based in Avonmouth and offered on a hybrid working basis - 2/3 days per week.

What you will be doing:

  • Accountable for all scheduling and planning of the shipboard workforce ensuring the right people are in the right roles are on the right ships at the correct times
  • Manage the global crew logistics meeting all airline, cruise line and border control regulations including but not exclusive to travel, accommodation, regulatory training, visa, medical, third-party agency, and port arrangements 
  • Effectively forecast workforce and recruitment requirements
  • Deliver continuous improvement reviews and activities to deliver cost savings and efficiencies
  • Define and deliver internal and external customer service level agreements, hitting targets
  • Manage and monitor actual and forecasted spend against budgeted plans and challenge, investigate, and understand any variance
  • Coordinate and communicate reporting related to scheduling and workforce planning
  • Provide leadership to the department, foster teamwork and conduct regular team meetings
  • Manage and efficiently resource your team including any out of hours and weekend requirements
  • Accountable for the effective use of the scheduling systems ensuring data integrity and accuracy

About you:

  • Proven experience in people logistics/scheduling and workforce planning in a variety of dynamic, large-scale organisations over national or global geographies
  • Highly data driven with strong analytical skills and the ability to correlate and use complex data to influence key business decisions and drive future operations.
  • Detailed knowledge of various Scheduling / People Logistics systems
  • Experienced in handling large budgets
  • Strong organisational skills, personal efficiency, time management, and an ability to prioritise competing demands. A critical thinker who is calm and works well under pressure
  • Experienced in the continual evaluation of processes and procedures, and the implementation of initiatives to manage risks and improve operational efficiencies and service levels
  • Motivational and inspiring leadership skills
  • Must have an existing right of eligibility to work in the UK
