School Careers Advisor

• Annual Salary: £30,033 - £31,440 (FTE)
• Location: Redbridge
• Job Type: Full-time (36 hours, 46.2 weeks per year)

We are seeking an experienced Careers Advisor for a secondary school in Redbridge. The successful candidate will oversee and deliver the school's Careers Provision including careers education, study options and work experience in line with Gatsby benchmarks. You will be expected to manage input from the staff team as well as external stakeholders including education providers and employers.

Day to day of the role:

• Preparing and implementing a Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance development plan, overseeing the school's Careers Education strategy and resources.
• Report on the success of the provision to SLT for school improvement planning and Ofsted.
• Support staff & students with labour market information, careers guidance, access to further education and apprenticeship destinations.
• Identifying funding sources for Careers Education, write bids and utilise external resources available to the school.
• Develop partnerships and access to local employers, careers fairs, and work experience as well as further education colleges, apprenticeship providers, and employment opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven knowledge of the Labour Market and experience providing Careers Advice to young adults.
• Understanding of student destinations to employment, education and training and ability to develop & maintain a stakeholder network to create opportunities for partnership.
• Familiarity with the Gatsby Benchmarks and the ability to implement strategies that meet these standards.
• Ability to build relationships and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
