Hours: 6am - 2pm (Mon-Fri) – must be comfortable covering holiday within team.

Our client are looking for an experienced Caretaker to join their maintenance team dedicated to servicing Alvaston Moor Academy in Derby.
The Caretaker will be responsible for maintaining the educational facilities and wider campus with wide-ranging duties including cleaning and repair work.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of caretaking or site management and ideally worked in a similar educational facility as part of a facilities team.
You will be encouraged to be flexible and resourceful in your approach to the tasks at hand, while delivering a great customer service to the wide range of people you will meet each day.
This is an active and varied role as part of a larger team across the campus, and every day will be different.
The successful candidate will have
- Previous caretaking experience
- Physically fit
- Relish the opportunity to work in a student environment and deal with the issues that brings
- Health and Safety awareness & knowledge of COSHH
- IT literacy skills and the ability to use mobile/hand-held device for emails
You will be responsible for:
- Maintaining academy safety and security precautions
- PPM and maintenance repairs (eg) fire alarm/emergency lighting tests, temperature checks, minor plumbing, door/floor/ceiling maintenance etc
- Regular site walks, risk assessments and HSE audits
- Removing refuse bags, litter picking and cleaning of communal internal / external areas
- Supporting with movement of furniture, supplies, deliveries when necessary
- Maintain safe conditions and safe working practices within all the facilities
