We are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to join a large and successful school in the Slough area. This is an immediate start position for an individual who is either experienced or aspiring to be a School Caretaker. The role involves being a valued member of the school’s maintenance team, ensuring the school’s facilities are maintained to a high standard and providing a safe environment for students and staff.

• Support the maintenance team with both response and planned maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Maintain a systematic approach to general maintenance and repairs to ensure the school’s appearance is always neat and tidy.
• Conduct weekly and monthly checks on heating systems, fire safety equipment, and water systems.
• Assist in emergency evacuations and fire drills, ensuring student and staff safety.
• Handle equipment and chemicals correctly, adhering to COSHH Regulations.
• Report any Health and Safety issues promptly.
• Manage tools inventory, ensuring they are in good repair and accounted for.
• Adhere to budgets and financial guidelines.
• Operate in line with the school’s Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Health and Safety policies.
• Promote the school as a professional asset within the community and uphold a culture of professionalism.

• Experience as a School Caretaker is preferred but not essential.
• Knowledge of maintenance procedures and basic repairs.
• Understanding of Health and Safety regulations, including COSHH.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and budget management skills.
• Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
