School Caretaker

Busy Bee Recruitment are looking for an enthusiastic DIY genius to come our client’s team of School Caretakers based at their secondary school based in the heart of St Neots, Cambridgeshire

Job Role / Duties:

• Assist the Site Manager to ensure that external areas are maintained to a high standard, including the removal of graffiti and litter.
• Under direction of the Site Manager, respond to Academy evacuations, including fire alarms.
• Review the CCTV in conjunction with the Site Manager and respond to requests from the Senior Leadership Team to view and record footage.
• Be proactive in relation to access to the site by contractors and visitors and for deliveries.
• Undertake routine inspections around the Academy to ascertain where repairs are required.
• Carry out repairs to property, fixtures & fittings, and equipment with special regard to any Health and Safety issues which may arise.
• Undertake routine certificated electrical testing (training will be provided), carry out minor plumbing/electrical/carpentry repairs or other repairs of a minor nature.
• Direct workmen and contractors to the sites of repair and maintenance work.
• Report any repairs which are beyond your capabilities to the Site Manager.
• Carry out weekly checks on fire equipment to include fire extinguisher- emergency lights- and call points.
