Job description

The purpose of the role of the School Case Manager is to support and facilitate the effective management of the school's work in these areas. It is anticipated that the postholder will work directly with senior staff, providing process and administrative support for the management of this work, and ensuring effective coordination between all parties.
This is a new role, and the role description is designed to be indicative rather than restrictive and will evolve over time.
Key responsibilities are expected to include:
Process management
Supporting senior staff in proactively overseeing particular individual matters, for instance the coordination of specific incidents, to ensure that these are managed effectively. Coordinating and overseeing effective processes, and seeking opportunities to further improve and develop our processes and procedures. Supporting senior staff with the prioritisation of work to ensure timely implementation of relevant processes. Supporting school systems to ensure information is shared in an effective and appropriate way as required, including at key school transition points. Drafting care plans and risk assessments and ensuring and facilitating highest standards of care for all individuals involved. Assisting in the analysis of safeguarding and wellbeing data to identify patterns and trends for senior staff. Liaising with external agencies and advisors, as required. Administrative support
Overseeing relevant administration, filing, and recording, ensuring that thorough and detailed records are kept, and that filing systems are systematic, clearly labelled and up to date. Producing and updating logs, chronologies and summaries. Providing written and oral reports. Coordinating meetings, and assisting in the planning of investigations. Taking notes and minutes of meetings. Working with HR and other staff to keep records of staff training in relevant school procedures, and organising additional training as needed. Other
Maintaining an up to date and thorough knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory frameworks, guidance and best practice, and advising on its implementation in school, working closely with the head of compliance. Engaging in ongoing continued professional development, and bringing a proactive approach to ensuring that the school's work in this area continues to develop. Other reasonable duties as requested by the Head and other senior staff. This is a part-time role, based around a 20 hour working week 25 days' annual paid holiday plus statutory English public holidays. Due to the case-specific nature of the work, some flexibility in working pattern is desirable.
The postholder will report to the senior deputy head, and will work closely with the senior team, including the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Person Specification
Essential:
A meticulous, systematic and thorough approach to work, with excellent attention to detail and an ability to follow detailed procedures. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing at all levels. Experience in dealing with highly sensitive information, and maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality. A commitment to the highest professional standards and to ongoing professional development. Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline. Excellent IT skills (particularly Word and Excel) and an aptitude to utilise other software packages as required. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and proactively Ability to work under pressure, to be resourceful and to demonstrate initiative, and to manage competing priorities effectively. Desirable:
An up to date understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks impacting on the education sector. A legal qualification, company secretarial experience, or experience in an audit capacity.
