Responsibilities
- Plan and implement menus that provide a good level of nutrition.
- Provide meals that meet individual dietary requirements.
- Be responsible for the effective operation of the kitchen this includes drawing up staff rotas.
- Making suitable arrangements for times when you are not on duty but the kitchen continues to operate.
- Ensure that all regulations relating to food preparation, cooking and storage are complied with.
- To ensure adequate stock of appropriate provisions, this will involve ordering in good time from approved suppliers, checking deliveries and invoices and monitoring the catering budget.
- To ensure all kitchen equipment is safe to use, maintained and stored in working order.
Requirements
- Proven catering experience within school setting
- Relevant qualification in Catering at Diploma Level 3 or equivalent
- Food safety Level 3
- DBS checked
