As a School Counsellor you will:

  • Undertake initial assessments for students accessing the mental health and wellbeing service to analyse their situation and support needed.
  • Support a range of students with any mental health and/or well-being concerns to be able to build resilience and develop coping skills.
  • Be responsible for the provision of a high-quality counselling and mentoring services to students using a wide range of therapeutic interventions.
  • Liaise with parents, in-school professionals, and external agencies to plan a coordinated response to mental health and wellbeing support.

To be successful as a School Counsellor you will:

  • Be confident supporting young people in need with a range of mental health and wellbeing challenges
  • Hold a relevant Level 3 qualification and/or have experience in mental health and wellbeing in an educational setting.
  • Have a good understanding of Safeguarding and the ability to maintain confidentiality in dealing with sensitive issues.
  • Understand how to input and utilise education/ school systems to the best of your ability.
  • Have the ability to work well under pressure and strong problem solving skills.

In return, my client is offering an annual salary of up to GBP36,298 (pro-rata) . Please note, this is a term time only position plus + 2 weeks working part-time (30 hours per week.)
