School Cover Supervisor
Location: Weston-Super-Mare
Year Group: Year 7 to Year 11
Hours: Mon-Fri, PT or FT, 8:30am – 16:00pm
Pay: £100 - £110 Per day
Contract: Temporary
Qualifications: University degree in relevant subject (Desirable), Childcare qualification (Desirable)
Experience: Min 1 year’s work experience in a classroom environment (or similar)
Responsibilities:
Cover Supervisor roles are similar to supply teachers, however you do not need Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to work as a Cover Supervisor. Your primary responsibility is to monitor the class while they complete a pre-set task from their usual teacher who is unavailable. You will be there to lend a helping hand to any students who need assistance and you will manage the classroom behaviour to ensure they complete the task at hand. You won’t be expected to have great subject knowledge for every lesson, as you may be required to cover a variety of subjects, but having a specialism which you are knowledgeable on would be beneficial. Having good behaviour management skills are essential as you will be the sole adult in charge of the classroom, and previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or leading lessons in some capacity is highly sought after.
