Job Summary

Are you passionate about empowering children and young people to thrive in their educational journey? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated School Intervention Officer to make a real difference through our innovative school programmes.


Job Description

As School Intervention Officer you will:

  • Deliver our positive mental health programme, Team Mates, to groups of students in years 6 and 7 in our partner schools, including workshops, assemblies and mentoring;
  • Deliver the Premier League Primary Stars programme, including small group activities, workshops, social action programmes and PE lessons;
  • Deliver the Premier League Inspires programme, involving workshops and activities for young people in secondary schools;
  • Organise and support at events related to the programmes, including parent consultations, career and aspirational days, mentors training, tournaments and festivals;
  • Form positive relationships with key partners including schools, parents and local authorities;
  • Support the administration elements of the programmes including data collection and input, updating monitoring and evaluation systems and completing reports for funding partners.


Person Specification

As successful candidate you will have:

  • A passion and interest in developing a career in the social change sector, particularly supporting young people in primary and secondary school education;
  • Experience working in a school environment, with a proven track record of achievement;
  • Sound knowledge of the school education system;
  • Good knowledge of mental health related illnesses;
  • Experience working with young people from different backgrounds;
  • The ability to empathise with and give support to participants who may not feel comfortable in learning or sports related environments;
  • The ability to develop and maintain relationships with schools and their staff including head teachers, SENCO and Governors;
  • Ideally possess qualifications in Physical Education, FA/UEFA football coaching or other sports coaching, Youth Mental Health First Aid, safeguarding and/or first aid;
  • Be reliable, organised, flexible and willing to learn;
  • Be available to work at clubs after school hours and some holiday work.
