Job description

Now Education are looking for an approachable, motivated and experienced School Office Administrator for a primary school in Sneinton Nottingham on a long-term basis. You will work in a welcoming community and a highly motivated, professional staff team that are driven towards continuously raising standards.

You will:

  • Provide high quality administrative support for a range of clerical and administrative tasks.
  • Deal with face to face enquiries from parents, carer, children and visitors.
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team and administrative functions as required.
  • Need to be confident at communicating with staff of all levels, parents and external agencies.
  • Undertake reception duties, answering routine telephone and face-to-face enquiries and signing in visitors.
  • Assist with pupil first aid/welfare duties, looking after sick pupils, liaising with parents/staff.
  • Provide routine clerical support, e.g. photocopying, filing, faxing, e-mailing, complete routine forms.
  • Undertake typing, word processing and other IT-based tasks.
  • Sort and distribute mail.
  • Undertake routine financial administration, e.g. collect and record dinner money.
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
  • Be aware of and support difference and ensure equal opportunities for all.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos and values of the school.
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.
  • Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.

You must:

  • Have relevant School Office Administrator experience.
  • Be adaptable, hardworking and enthusiastic.
  • Have excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Have excellent communication skills and a friendly, welcoming and confident nature.
  • Be able to demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm within a team.
  • Have empathy for pupils.
  • Have a passion for primary education.
  • Be able to apply for an Enhanced DBS or have a DBS certificate on the update service.
