The School Admissions and School Organisation Team are looking to recruit two School Organisation Officers to support theCouncil's statutory duties in relation to school place planning and School Organisation.
These posts are offered on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2025.
Theseare varied and important roles within a growing area of work. These two posts will assist, in the main, with 5 areas of work:-
- Take forward work on mainstream school place sufficiency.
- Take forward work on special school and enhanced resource provision places.
- Support work around the efficiency of the school estate and deficit budgets.
- Support work to plan and deliver academisation.
- Organise and service the Children's Asset and Sufficiency Group.
The above projects are in addition to the tasks already carried out by the existing School Organisation Officer and successful applicants would also be expected to assist with these existing tasks which include:
- Overseeing pupil projection work.
- Assisting in the reviews of school places and School Organisation proposals.
- Giving advice and guidance to parents / carers, schools and others on all matters relating to school admissions and School Organisation proposals.
- Preparing and assisting in the production of reports, papers and plans by carrying out research and collating information / statistics.
- Attending consultation meetings relating to School Organisation issues.
The successful applicants will be organised, calm under pressure and will pay great attention to details.
The role will involve liaising with other local authorities and internal colleagues and therefore you should be a confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.
