Job Title:Schools Area Coordinator (Richmond & Hounslow)

Department: Sports Participation and Schools

Reports to: Senior Manager Operations and Business Development

Responsible for: Working under the direction and support of the Senior Manager Operations and Business Development and other key staff, you will be responsible for the coordination and deployment of BFC CST coaching staff within the Schools Department across Richmond & Hounslow. A key task will be to manage existing school partnerships while also securing new school contracts which may include holiday camps and Saturday morning clubs.

Salary: £28.500 per annum

Working in partnership with Brentford FC, the Trust offers a portfolio of programmes in education, health, sports participation and community engagement. The Trust has won the ‘Football League Community Club of the Year’ award four times and now employs more than 100 members of staff. The Trust is forecasting further significant expansion over the next two years following its appointment as a key partner in the redevelopment of Gunnersbury Park [as a sports hub], and its move to new, larger, purpose-built premises directly adjacent to the new Brentford FC 17,500 capacity stadium near Kew Bridge in 2021.

Main Purpose of Job

The Schools Area Coordinator (Richmond and Hounslow) will oversee the coordination of all school sport sessions in Richmond & Hounslow. The post holder will also have a responsibility of managing existing school partnerships and generating new income for the area linked to targets.

Responsibilities

  • Deployment of staff in Richmond and Hounslow and support other Area Leads
  • Manage existing school partnerships and generate new income for your area linked to targets.
  • Dealing with staff illness and leave on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinate the recruitment process of staff for your area and work closely with Head of Recruitment, Training and Development.
  • Primary contact for school sport staff – Managing risk assessments, incident report forms and staff equipment.
  • Line management of contracted staff and casual staff for your area
  • Ensuring monitoring and evaluation data is inputted using Views or Salesforce
  • Coordinate with the Marketing & Communication department to ensure video and photo captures, press releases and case studies.
  • Management of school sport holiday camps in your area – staffing, parent enquiries
  • Support our EFL Joy of Moving & Premier League Primary Stars leads to ensure program delivery in your area.
  • Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality, especially regarding individuals' personal details and concerns.
  • Follow established protocols for data protection and privacy.
  • Act as a point of contact in emergency situations, providing assistance and guiding individuals to safety.
  • Coordinate with relevant authorities and emergency services as necessary.
  • Stay informed about safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Participate in training sessions related to safeguarding and emergency response.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns promptly to the appropriate authorities or designated personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, concerns, and actions taken.
  • Effectively communicate with staff, clients, and visitors to promote a culture of safety and awareness.
  • Act as a liaison between different departments regarding safeguarding matters.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to create a cohesive approach to safeguarding.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to the development and improvement of safeguarding policies.
  • Provide support and guidance to staff members in understanding and adhering to safeguarding policies.
  • Facilitate training sessions for employees to raise awareness about safeguarding issues.
  • Actively seek opportunities to enhance safeguarding measures and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety protocols.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and implement relevant updates.

The Selection Criteria Essential

  • Football Association Level 1 or above/Other NGB sports qualifications
  • Safeguarding Children (FA or equivalent)
  • Emergency Aid (FA or equivalent)
  • Current Enhanced DBS
  • Experience of line managing and coordinating of staff
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Enthusiasm and energy to work under pressure.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office / IT skills)
  • Ability to travel to a variety of workplaces within West London utilizing own transport.
  • Flexible to work outside normal office hours.

Desirable:

  • Sports Business Management Degree
  • Management/Coordinator course
  • Experience of delivering coaching sessions (e.g., PE Lesson)

The Appointment

Annual salary will be £28,500 per annum, depending on experience.
