Hours per week: 37 - we are open to discussions about flexible working

Now is an exciting time to join the Education team and to make a real difference to the future of the council and the residents. You’ll report into the Deputy Director of Education and will work within a talented and high performing team in support of our Schools’ Forum.


The Schools’ Forums’ purpose is to provide strategic direction for the funding of schools in the local authority and support services in relation to new school funding arrangements.


About the role


As Schools Partnership Officer, you will provide an invaluable link between members of the Schools’ Forum, the Chair and the local authority, providing independent and expert advice to the Forum and other school focused strategic partnerships on its duties and functions to create efficiency and ensure compliance.


To support this, you will also take on responsibility for a range of strategic partnership meetings: organising agendas, room bookings, taking minutes and wider administrative support to the Deputy Director of Education and the Director of Children’s Services. This will include the Education Commission and a variety of other boards and meetings.


About you


  • Always learning, you’ll ideally bring experience as a clerk, governance professional or democratic officer, with an excellent understanding of the Schools’ Forum duties and responsibilities, legislation, and procedures.
  • Kind and caring, you’ll be a natural communicator with an understanding of and respect for individuals’ qualities, abilities, strengths, and diverse backgrounds.
  • Advocating for equality and integrity, you’ll bring the knowledge to champion good practice and the needs of learners, whilst be an engaging partner to shape a positive service response.
  • Willing to take responsibility to deliver on the vision of Oxfordshire County Council and ensuring expert advice is given at all times.
  • Driven to do things differently as part of our journey of continuous improvement.
