Early Career Teacher (ECT) – Secondary Science
Are you looking for a supportive yet ambitious school to complete your ECT induction?
Do you have passion for working with a range of backgrounds to provide the best possible education?
To start in September 2024, we are looking for Science specialist ECTs to join a school within our network. This is open to Biology, Chemistry or Physics specialists. In return for you getting involved with our students and providing an excellent education, we offer a well-structured, supportive, and personalised ECT induction.
The highlights of our ECT induction includes:
- Support from an in-school mentor and an Ark ECT tutor
- Training sessions both in-person and online to suit your schedule.
- Wellbeing prioritised through an additional training module, weekly calls with your ECT tutor and an employee assistance line available 24/7
- Goals and targets set based on you as an individual in bite sized chunks, rather than a set programme for everyone.
You can read more about our programme in the attached job description and information!
As well as being an ECT within Ark, being part of the Ark network allows you to join us in our mission of providing excellent education to all children, regardless of their background.
Some of the benefits of being part of our schools and network includes:
- Each Ark school is different, although following the same values, and has its own character based on the SLT, Teachers and pupils.
- Ark pay scales – 2.5% above current teacher pay scales for your region.
- Training – double the amount of training within working hours and additional INSET days. Allowing you to choose your own courses based on your interests and goals.
- Career progression – ability to complete NPQ or Masters qualifications while working.
- Enrichment and extracurricular – able to get involved in Ark Music, Ark Sport or run your own enrichment based on your own skills and interests.
- Science Mastery via Ark Curriculum – Ensuring you don’t need to plan from scratch but can also change and develop to meet your students and teaching style.
