You will be teaching Science at a school that prides itself on preparing children for their lifelong journey ahead. The area this school serves has its own challenges, with many children from disadvantaged families and a high level of deprivation. Your students are coming to school for a safe space and have an abundance of pastoral care available to them and their families. Here, they are empowered and motivated, they feel like their voices are heard. They are even involved in the interview process of new staff, so be prepared for their questions!
Academy leaders have made vast improvements to the curriculum in the past few years, and you will be clear on what you need to teach. In your lessons students embark on a journey covering content and developing skills through engaging and practical activities. They will experience a fluid movement throughout KS3 and KS4. By year 11 your pupils can communicate their scientific ideas verbally and on paper.
This is an exciting permanent opportunity in a school committed to recruiting the best quality teachers to drive their vision forward. You will be really making a difference to children that need it most, some having been through adverse trauma. Many teachers say that’s what they want to do when they go into teaching, yet not many take on roles to make that a reality. Here is your chance.
