Calling all the Science Teachers in Slough!
GSL Education are looking for a Science Teacher for one of our Secondary client school in Slough. The Science Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality Science education to secondary school students, creating engaging and informative lesson plans, and monitoring student progress. The Science Teacher must adhere to the national curriculum and use a variety of teaching methods to ensure all students are able to learn effectively. As a member of the Science department, you will play a crucial role and work closely with the Head of Faculty. The school values the teaching of fundamental skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving with a touch of creativity, which are integral to its ethos and expected from its staff.
Key responsibilities and tasks:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver Science lessons that align with the national curriculum and meet the needs of individual students.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, such as lectures, group work, and practical experiments, to engage students and support their learning.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress through regular assessments, homework assignments, and tests.
- Provide feedback to students and parents on their academic progress, including identifying areas for improvement and strategies for success.
- Use technology and other resources to enhance the learning experience for students.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, such as science clubs, science fairs, and field trips, to further engage and inspire students.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement school-wide programs and initiatives.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field.
- Teaching certification or qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS) for secondary school
- Prior experience teaching Science to secondary school students.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
