We are looking for an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join our Secondary School after the Easter holidays to cover long-term on-going sickness absence, delivering inspiring and engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4. This is an excellent opportunity for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to develop their career in a supportive environment. The successful candidate must have experience teaching in a Secondary School setting and hold QTS or QTLS.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Science lessons that cater to the needs of all students.
- Foster a love for Science and encourage students to engage with the subject matter.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Maintain discipline through well-focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and whole school training events.
- Be committed to your own professional development and willing to engage in further training and development opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills).
- Experience teaching Science in a Secondary School setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Science curriculum across KS3 and KS4.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to ensure student engagement.
- Commitment to inclusive education and differentiated teaching methods.
- Must have a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
