Job description

Unique opportunity to join a friendly laboratory support team, ensuring the smooth running/reduced downtime of laboratory equipment for the company’s busy Scientists!

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and high-calibre Co-ordinator to work with the Laboratory support team and alongside the client scientific community. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating external contractors/Service Engineers who are due on-site to install, service, calibrate, maintain and fix laboratory instrumentation.

Your key responsibilities as the successful candidate will be:

  • Co-ordinating repairs and proactive maintenance efforts utilising both in-house and external engineering resources.
  • Serving as the primary contact and host for all visiting engineers, ensuring their compliance with client protocols.
  • Acting as the initial point of response for equipment repair issues and assisting the scientific team with equipment setup.
  • Delivering clear and effective communication to the client's user group while collaborating closely with our existing Laboratory support team.
  • Accurately inputting all necessary data into the client's asset and compliance databases to maintain a clear history of assets and data integrity.

Required experience:

  • Experience in a Scientific position
  • Experience in an administrative/customer-facing role is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge/experience of laboratory regulations desired
  • Skilled in using Microsoft office packages, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and ability to multitask.
