Job description

Here we are with an opportunity to work with a world-renowned, global biotech company, with a presence in 25+ countries and over 15,000 staff!

This is a 12-month contract (could well be extended or made permanent) for a Development Scientist (we will also consider those looking for a more senior title/level).

The company is based in Royston and manufactures solutions for bioprocessing, both in the pharma and biopharma industries.

As a Scientist within the Product Development team, you'll be the link between the engineers, the customer and the final product, carrying out experiments and ensuring it is fit for purpose, tested and ready for customers. Even troubleshooting any issues after installation!

It's all lab-based, and you'll enjoy working in a well-equipped technical environment with some highly innovative products which are integral in bringing drugs and therapies to patients, quicker!

The Role:

  • Work with development teams and customers to come up with specifications for products
  • Plan and design the and test procedures, carry these out and provide analysis of results, producing and utilising data and reports
  • Source and gather materials for testing new technologies and automated systems
  • Carry out biological/biochemical based assays
  • Work with product design and engineering teams to review progress
  • Carry out fault diagnoses and tests for engineers
  • Support trials at customer sites, providing training and application support

What do you need to apply?

  • Relevant PhD or alternatively, extensive experience working in advance cell therapy industries
  • Good understanding of cell therapy and T-cell culture
  • Excellent aseptic laboratory technique
  • Mammalian culture
  • Process development within an industrial or academic bioprocessing lab
  • Experience planning and carrying out experiments and delivering data and conclusions
  • Understanding of how bioreactors are operated
  • Superb planning ability
  • Ability to prepare and deliver technical reports, manuals and presentations effectively
  • Right to work in the UK for at least the next 12 months

  • You will be paid weekly, through The ONE Group's payroll at an equivalent of GBP40-60k as an hourly rate, dependent on your experience
