Role Description

Allianz Speciality have an excellent opportunity for a Scrum Master who is passionate about change and transformation and is looking to further develop their Agile ways of working.

 

As a Scrum Master (SM) you will act as a servant leader to one or more Scrum teams, normally within a wider scaled agile model. You'll use agile values, principles, and practices to help the team reach expected outcomes and continuously improve.  

Your Focus:

  • Facilitate the agile teams to deliver their prioritised outcomes and follow the chosen agile methods and frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).

  • Ensure Agile events happen on agreed cadence, meet their designed purpose, are well planned, timeboxed and effective and identify early and support the removal of blockers and impediments that may affect the Agile team's progress and distract them from delivering their committed outcomes.

  • Support Product Owners to provide Product and sprint goals, maintain the Product Backlog and help ensure that each Product Backlog Item is clearly articulated according to agile best practice.

  • Facilitate agile teams and individuals to understand the importance of metrics, to become self-managing and cross-functional and help them demonstrate their values (i.e. Commitment, courage, focus, openness, and respect).

  • Support teams in assessing their agile maturity and ultimately provide coaching for the team to higher maturity levels at a sustainable and comfortable pace for the team and organisation.

  • Foster a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution or being judged, emphasising healing and problem-solving.

  • Help to create a high energy, motivating environment for the Agile team making use of the team charter and retrospective ceremonies to identify how to continuously improve the teams enjoyment and effectiveness of ways of working

  • Set up and encourage the use of Agile tooling to allow teams to thrive and collaborate wherever they may be situated.

 

About You

You will have previous history working in a Financial Services environment with knowledge of General insurance an advantage.

 

You will have previous experience/ Knowledge of :

  • Agile values, principles and practices and an understanding of and evidence of application of Scrum in practice

  • Delivering quality end to end with excellent eye for detail.

  • Problem-solving and removing blockers to progress.

  • Handling conflict and competing demands from stakeholders

  • In-depth Scrum, Kanban and DevOps experience and knowledge of the key concepts of TDD/BDD.

  • Working with distributed teams

  • leadership and management of people with the willingness to lead, motivate and inspire others to achieve their full potential.  

  • Skills mapping and cross skilling experience to encourage T-Shaped teams

  • Agile product, project or change delivery and experience of agile tooling and work management tools such as Jira, Miro & Confluence

  • Experience working across a portfolio of large-scale projects in an international organisational environment.

  • Experience of different approaches to change delivery aligned to business outcomes such as Agile, Kanban, and new approaches System Thinking Critical Chain’.

  • Financial and budget management for change initiatives

  • Resource management – requesting, evaluating and dealing with resource disruption

 

Qualifications: 

  • Educated to degree level or relevant demonstrable business experience

  • Scrum Master certification (PSM/CSM or equivalent) 

 

 

Our Ways of Working

The role will be based at Allianz Ditton Park, Riding Court Road, Datchet SL3 9LL.

 

Our office with flex model means that you will have the opportunity to work from home as well as the office. As a hybrid worker you will be in the office between 2 and 16 days per month depending on individual and business need. This will be discussed at interview stage.
