Seafreight Operator - Birmingham
My client is an independent Global Freight and logistics provider handling Road, Air & Sea, and Warehouse
The group employs over 1,400 people offices all over the UK, and the Republic of Ireland, plus freight teams in Belgium and the Netherlands and internationally in Hong Kong, China, India and the UAE. Position Summary:
To build, manage and maintain relationships with key Air & Sea stakeholders and support the day-to-day operations through excellent customer service and attention to detail. We are currently looking for a Seafreight Operator to join the Sea freight Team in the Birmingham office.
You will take responsibility for the smooth cargo journey from ocean to delivery, efficiently and accurately operate all owned Seafreight import / export files. Providing updates for agents, customers, Customer Service and Business Development managers through phone and email
Ensuring all customs, shipment and operational costs are accounted for and applied and that goods are efficiently cleared for entry.
Ensure that excellent and consistent service levels are met at all times. Check invoicing batches to ensure files are accurately costed and invoiced.
Skills and experience required:
Experience in ocean imports & some exposure to customs processes/ clearance but we will consider export operators · Time management and communication skills. · The ability to prioritise and to pro-actively deal with situations and use initiative. · Excellent team player
Salary and Benefits
* Salary range circa £28,000 - £33,000
