Seasonal Kitchen Assistant

We're looking for a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant to join our Scout Adventure team based in Youlbury.

Location: Scout Adventures, Youlbury, Boars Hill, Oxford, OX1 5HD

Salary: £21,674 per annum, Band A - Level 3 

Term: 6-8 month Fixed Term Contract 

Working Hours: 40 hours per week including some weekends where required

About the Seasonal Kitchen Assistant Role: 

This is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills on various levels. From catering to school groups, to Scout groups, from small groups to large groups, this is great opportunity to put your creativity to the test.  

As a Kitchen Assistant at Youlbury, your role will involve supporting the cook in preparing delicious and nourishing meals for our customers to remember. You will also be joining our great team of over 30 international staff and volunteers who provide memorable experiences for our young people.

What we are looking for in our Seasonal Kitchen Assistant:

• Some kitchen experience would be preferable, but not essential.
• Confidence working in a values based working environment.
• Hold a suitable food hygiene qualification (e.g. Level 2 Food Hygiene)  -preferable, but not essential
• Able to take instructions and be able to follow through on tasks.
• Organised and able to assist and apply the Food Safety Management plan, and stock control systems.
• Ability to build effective relationships with visitors, volunteers and staff. 

Key responsibilities as our Seasonal Kitchen Assistant:

• Getting involved with all aspects of the kitchen, helping us provide a great catering experience for all of our customers
• Working closely with experienced kitchen team to deliver healthy tasty food to our guests
• Working with young people and volunteers
• Learning about Food Safety in kitchen and Health and Safety
