Vetro Education are seeking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work full-time, in a SEN School in Aberdare. The successful Teaching Assistant will be working on a 1-2-1 basis with a learner with social and emotional behavioural difficulties (SEBD) to assist with their day-to-day participation in classes.
The role will be for 5 days per week (Monday to Friday) and to start in December 2023. Initially, this role is set to run until the end of the Easter term 2024 with a view to returning for the duration of the summer term.
Due to the age of the pupil, this role could continue beyond (Apply online only) academic year.

The role: What you'll be doing as a SEBDTeaching Assistant
- Supporting and supervising a learner with SEBD on a 1-2-1 basis
- Assisting the learner at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the day
- Assisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
- Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
- Assist the learner at break time with their lunch
- Engage the learner with both classroom and out of classroom activities
- Work in accordance to the school's behaviour management policies
The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a SEBD Teaching Assistant
- At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an SEBD setting would be beneficial
- Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
- References covering the last two years (no gaps)
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- The right to work in the UK
