Drama Teacher in Secondary School based in Basingstoke Area

Starting September – Long term contract

Pay – £130 – £230

Location – Basingstoke

Hours – 8:00am – 4:00pm Temporary full-time

About the School:

The School is a mixed Secondary School for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 1500 students in total. The School is based in Basingstoke. The school was graded as a Good School in its last Ofsted inspection and continues to perform well. 

Qualifications Required:

–          Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

–          Bachelor’s degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

–          Previous experience teaching drama at the secondary school level

–          Strong knowledge of drama techniques, theories, and history

–          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

–          Ability to inspire and motivate students

–          Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment

Job Description:

As a Drama Teacher, you will be instrumental in nurturing the creative and personal growth of our students. You will craft and implement engaging lessons that immerse students in different facets of drama, such as improvisation, character development, and script analysis. Your proficiency in drama techniques and your adaptability in teaching methods to cater to diverse learners will be crucial in creating a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Beyond classroom teaching, you will work with colleagues to create curriculum materials, organise extracurricular activities like drama clubs and school productions, and engage in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities. Your dedication to continuous learning and enthusiasm for the performing arts will motivate students to uncover their talents and achieve their full potential.

As a Drama Teacher, you will also be responsible for assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of achievement. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive relationships and supporting the overall success of our drama program.
