Job description

An OFSTED rated ‘Outstanding’ school in Merton are seeking a teacher of English to join them ASAP. This is a full-time role initially until Easter with the possibility to be extended further. Staff at the school have consistently high expectations of behaviour and pupils show excellent behaviour in and out of lessons. You will play a pivotal role in nurturing a deep appreciation for literature, language, and critical thinking skills. Your creativity and passion for the English language will inspire students to become articulate communicators and lifelong learners.

The Role:
Strong knowledge of the English curriculum.
Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources.
Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the classroom and throughout the school.
Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback to help them to progress.
Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons.
Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these.

Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience teaching English at secondary level.
A genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their best.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with young learners.
