We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Secondary English Teacher to join our school in Abu Dhabi for the upcoming academic year starting in August 2024. Our school follows the Canadian curriculum and we welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Canadian curriculum and its teaching methods, although experience in this curriculum is not essential. We believe that with the right attitude and willingness to learn, any teacher can adapt to our curriculum and make a valuable contribution to our students' education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for students in Secondary English classes.
- Develop and deliver lessons in line with the Canadian curriculum, utilizing a variety of teaching strategies and resources.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with the English department and other subject teachers to plan and implement cross-curricular activities and projects.
- Participate in department and school-wide meetings, professional development opportunities, and events.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student achievement and attendance.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school administration.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification or license from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 2 years teaching experience at the secondary level.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to student learning and development.
