POSITION SUMMARY
The Tutor role is required to assist the Centre Director in delivering the agreed courses as set out in the relevant guidance documents and course notes, in a professional and diligent manner.
To ensure that students achieve to their complete potential, and are supported to learn and develop using the set material at all times as appropriate.
Primary Responsibilities:
- To deliver the set lessons in the relevant subject area, in a way that meets the student’s individual needs.
- To offer regular feedback to students and their parents or other responsible adults as appropriate
- To ensure that the learning material being used to support learning is up to date and relevant to each subject area
- To turn up to teach sessions in good time, and well prepared with any lesson plans or other material as needed
- To teach in a way that is non-discriminatory, nor judgemental and act in a professional and impartial way at all times
- To report to the centre director on a regular basis about progress of students and to offer feedback on the material being used
- To offer suggestions for continual quality improvements
- To safeguard and promote the welfare of children

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

Skills
Computer skills including use of a range of Knowledge of other cultures and of religions computer programs globally
Interpersonal skills including active listening, Awareness of customer service issues when giving empathetic feedback and a clear speaking speaking to people on the telephone and face-to- voice face
Ability to read signals that pupils understand/ don’t understand the work they are undertaking
Experience
Teaching children aged between 5 years and 16 Experience of teaching in a junior or secondary years in a classroom environment school
Developing curriculum plans in line with key Experience of teaching children with a range of stages needs and abilities
Marking and correcting work handed in by pupils An understanding of the implications of equality legislation
Qualifications
A formal teaching qualification or similar e.g. Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree
Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) in Maths or English
B.Ed / G.T.P
Or a willingness to undertake a qualification before commencement of teaching
Listed on the DBS register or willing to undergo a A recognised qualification related to children with
DBS register check before contact with pupils special needs
