Reed Education is looking for a dynamic PE Teacher who is also comfortable with general cover, to join a secondary school in Cumbria. The role starts immediately and offers the opportunity to contribute to a vibrant learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to fostering an engaging learning atmosphere.
Day-to-day of the role:
Deliver high-quality PE lessons and general cover when required.
Engage students with dynamic teaching methods and a passion for physical education.
Maintain strong classroom management skills.
Be a positive role model for students, demonstrating compassion, trustworthiness, and good listening skills.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the school’s PE curriculum.
Assess, monitor, and report on the progress of students.
Participate in school events and activities related to the PE department.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
Recent relevant experience of teaching PE at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 being an advantage.
Excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge.
Reliable, committed, and capable of working with students as a positive role model.
Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
