The school is a mainstream secondary school based in Bradford. It is a large secondary special school, with 325 students on roll, there are ongoing plans to expand further.
They are one of the largest special schools in the country. We have on-site support from other professionals including Speech and Language Therapists, the School Nursing team, Physiotherapy teams as well as support from Social Care and other services.

Responsibilities:
- You’ll plan and deliver lessons across a number of subjects that support young people achieving accreditation, building self-esteem and confidence.
- You’ll supervise and provide support and guidance to our Classroom Support Assistants and play a key role in their Professional Development Reviews.
- Naturally, you will take responsibility for implementing school policies and practices, including those relating to safeguarding and equality of opportunity. Additionally, you will also be expected to carefully be monitoring the health, well-being and personal care of our pupils; informing Pastoral/clinical/ SEND support teams and any other relevant professionals of any concerns.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher status (QTS) OR PGCE OR Equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience in achieving outstanding outcomes.
- Thorough working knowledge of the curriculum and how to adapt this for pupils with SEN Experience of working with young people with ASD.
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
- Ability to create and maintain strong nurturing relationships with young people.
- Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning, to include the students with anxiety.
- Knowledge of strategies and visual teaching methods to engage reluctant learners.
- A flexible approach, a high-level creativity, and the ability to adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
