About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for aSection Foremanto join our talented Highways Team on the M1/M62 CSB scheme in Leeds. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team and help us deliver a successful project. This role will see you providing supervision of the works and control of a team comprising Gangers and direct labour force. You will also provide supervision and control of the works of Subcontractors.


What you'll be doing

  • Input into the production of Work Package Plans and Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure that all relevant health and safety measures are highlighted and understood by the workforce and site team during daily briefings.
  • Make sure the workers / gangers have enough and correct information concerning specifications, workmanship, and finish.
  • Provide suggestions and recommendations for management and compliance of temporary works.
  • Identify potential hazards and proactively implement actions and controls.
  • Ensure all plant and small tools are adequately maintained before use.
  • Input into the production and delivery of Task Briefing Sheets and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure that the appropriate level of resource is allocated to each work activity and monitor to improve efficiency.
  • Identify future requirements for engineering control and communicate them to the Engineering team
  • Manage and coordinate required permits, ensuring compliance.

Who we're looking for
  • Previous experience in Highways or Civils projects.
  • Holds CSCS Card and SMSTS.
  • Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately.
  • Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes.
  • Driving Licence (essential)
  • Right to Work in the UK (essential)
