You will be the subject matter expert, working to support the sector team with all aspects of safeguarding.

The post holder will work collaboratively across the safeguarding team and will work on shared workstreams across the safeguarding portfolio, along with holding responsibility for specific workstreams. The post holder will work to provide specialist support to staff, monitoring and reviewing referrals and responding to requests for information from internal/external partners.

- To provide expert advice to the Trust on safeguarding matters where appropriate providing guidance to the Safeguarding Team and Named Doctor to ensure the Trust discharges its statutory and regulatory duties.
- Work collaboratively with sector management teams, providing specialist knowledge and advice
- Support investigations alongside investigating officers, providing expert advice relating to safeguarding
- Where required and appropriate, be able to deputise for the Safeguarding Lead.
- Communicate effectively with external agencies, professionals, and managers on highly complex and sensitive matters
- Where necessary provide health representation for multi-agency conferences/panels
- Work with internal and external forums, groups and panels to be a subject matter expert regarding safeguarding
- Be a subject expert on safeguarding for adults
- Be familiar with relevant legislation and processes associated with adult safeguarding e.g., S42, Safeguarding Adult Reviews, Domestic Homicide Reviews, etc.
- The post holder will be required to provide safeguarding supervision to staff across the trust, this includes clinicians, SPOC staff and local managers
