We're currently looking for a Sectors and Communities Manager on a full time, fixed term contract basis. This position sits within a wider Sector and Communities team within the UK Membership team. We are flexible on the location of this role as it will be mostly home based with some exceptions to travel to local London office or events around the UK.
The Job
Reporting to the Sectors & Communities Lead, on a day-to-day basis, you'll be involved in the following:
- Initiates, supports and nurtures communities whether ACCA or peer led adopting a digital first approach that delivers tangible value to members.
- Supports the transition from members networks to communities engaging, involving and informing members on the benefits of change.
- Acts as lead on allocated sector communities and talking series programme.
- Collaborates with agreed partners to strengthen the value proposition and recognition of the ACCA brand in targeted sectors on behalf of members (Mid Tier/Large Practices).
- Drives collaboration with members in Wales including leading the committee and engagement alongside our Strategic engagement lead in Wales.
- Works with the BD team to integrate sector plans with employer BD plans to demonstrate to employers the added value of ACCA membership, to leverage advocacy and grow the community and develop high impact employability interventions e.g. Virtual Careers Fairs
- Supports the Advocacy manager and Professional Insights team to identify and deliver activities for senior level ACCA members with aligned interests to policy development, regulatory or contemporary topics driven by member interests.
- Identify new opportunities to enhance member value by gathering market knowledge and insight from different communities and activities. Feed back into the business to support prioritised improvement of the Member Value Proposition and customer experience.
The Person
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience of building and sustaining effective communities & relationships
- Experience of developing and delivering digital events and meetings
- Experience of working with and managing volunteers to build community
- Knowledge and interest in the accounting and finance sector and current affairs
- An understanding of the practice sector landscape.
- Proactive and innovative in finding solutions to the support priority needs of members informed by insight
- Confident and clear oral communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills to deal with people at all levels both internally and externally
- Strong organisational skills to deal with a wide variety of tasks, projects and issues simultaneously whilst working to deadlines
- Strong written skills to produce good quality marketing/social copy, reports and agendas
