The position is for a Support Engineer within the Investment Systems Development team. Investment Systems is a team within the Aladdin Product Group and are responsible for technology utilized by Researchers, Portfolio Managers, Traders, Risk Managers, Compliance Officers and Investment Operations. More specifically the role is in our Securities Lending team, who are responsible for development and support of the global Sec Lending platform.

Role responsibilities:

  • Technical Application support Engineer to work with Trading desk, Operations and provide analysis and understand issues to provide solutions / resolutions in a timely manner

  • Serve as the primary support person on the front line, supervising all application services and implementing corrective actions for incidents

  • Analyse and coordinate resolution of data-related production issues

  • Maintain adequate communication with clients and IT management, act as liaison between business, vendors, and other support teams

  • Manage incidents and service requests as they related to Trading, Operations and Analytics to maintain a stable production environment

  • Partner with Business, Application Development, and Infrastructure teams to identify, solve issues and manage incidents/ requests to closure.

  • Call out issues when required to ensure timely resolution. Become main point of contact for reporting and data issues and requests.

  • Develop relationships with other Development team & platform operations groups to ensure all issues are addressed in an expatiated and effective manner and that users are kept always updated

  • Will be expected to review production stability & product inquiries and generate month end reporting and compile areas of improvements, etc

  • Help with production deployments of both application & infrastructure when needed

  • Documentation of production applications and infrastructure

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of IT or Application support experience in development or support related roles

  • Desirable: Application development background in the financial/banking domain (preferably in the Asset Management)

Technical / Business Skills & Knowledge:

  • Experience with many of the following: Unix, Java, Sybase, Autosys, Informatica-ETL

  • Great understanding of the Java framework

  • Great understanding of the Open Architecture / API's

  • Experience in writing / trouble shooting SQLs

  • Experience in distributed / trading application support

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle partner concerns.

  • Business knowledge of Finance domain preferred

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, business writing skills

  • Very good analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Solid understanding in real-time and batch support process

  • Highly motivated team player, detail oriented and self-driven

  • Experienced in supporting clients in financial domain

  • Very good communication skills

Desirable:

  • Support of Trading application

  • Hands on Java development & Azure Cloud experience

  • Experience with batch Jobs support & exposure to Autosys environments

  • Good Knowledge/prior experience in Client reporting products/applications

  • Knowledge in ITIL, Ticketing systems and SDLC

  • Understands Global operating model

Special Circumstances:

Staff may occasionally need to be on calls with other regions (e.g. EMEA, APAC) in their time zone for production issues and some weekend work on production releases, infrastructure events (DR, Failover etc.).
