Security Architect

British Transport Police (BTP) is recruiting for a Security Architect on a permanent contract. The role is paying up to £69,576.49 per annum and can be based at any of our main hubs in London, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Birmingham or Cardiff.

The Security Architect will be responsible for developing and maintaining BTP's Cyber Security Architecture and associated artefacts with the key objective of providing guidance, at scale, to technical, business, and security communities on how to design and build solutions which are secure by design and compliant with BTP's policy.
Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring that business processes and products are secure from the outset.
• Supporting the development of security strategy and services in alignment with Security Architecture best practice.
• Delivery of cyber Security Architecture elements of the system development lifecycle.
• Working with the Technical Design Authority to ensure security requirements are adequately built into new systems and solutions.

The successful candidate will be required to evidence the following:

• Experience of designing complex cyber security solutions, preferably within an architecture capacity.
• Experience of creating cyber reports, procedures, policies and standards.
• Working knowledge of VPN, SIEM, Firewall, IDS and IPS
• Cyber investigation skills, understanding of firewall reporting strong attention to detail and threat understanding.

Fluency in Welsh language, written and verbal is desirable (if based in Cardiff)
