Security Control Centre Operator

Warwick

6 months

£ 33,613 + 26% shift allowance

Different shifts, 4 days and 4 days off

Purpose:

The purpose of the SCC Operator role will be to operate within the Security Control Centre (SCC) reporting directly to the SCC Manager in Corporate Security. The post holder will provide a key role within this front-line team, by ensuring they provide support to all areas of the Corporate Security function, enabling us to safeguard National Grid's people, assets and reputation.

Skills required:

  • Monitoring multiple sites across the UK via a computer system and CCTV
  • Maintain the British standards BS 50518 and 7958 at all times
  • Alarm handling from the systems
  • Ensuring the safety of the Engineers and sites
  • Dealing with emergency situations
  • Dealing with multiple phone calls from customers.
  • Using the service desk
  • Checking the leftover alarms thoroughly throughout the day
  • Good time management, ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work
  • Proven ability to contribute to effective team working
  • Drive accuracy and attention to detail within the team
  • Working in a high performing, fast-paced team
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure

The role entails knowledge and experience of:

  • Gallagher Alarm and Access control Systems
  • Synectics Video & Alarm Management
  • Active directory
  • CCTV
  • Video Analytics
  • Perimeter Intruder Detection (PID) systems
  • CNI Environment
  • Management of ISS operational service and maintenance contracts
  • Computer literate, with advanced understanding of MS Office
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written to ensure that successful relationships are established and maintained with internal and external customers
  • Logical, analytical thinking with the ability to resolve problems quickly and effectively
  • Demonstrable competency in the security of Information Systems
  • Contract management
  • Operating within a customer focused performance-based environment
  • Experience of bespoke security solutions
  • IT Service Management
  • Operations/Control room

Qualifications Required:

Full UK Driving License

  • CCTV qualified and licensed (SIA Public Space Surveillance - CCTV)
  • Driving licence

Desirable skills:

  • Control room experience

This role is subject to National Security Vetting (NSV)in addition to our standard background checks being undertaken.National Security Vetting requires that you meet the Minimum Residency Criteria (MRC). You will have lived continuously in the United Kingdom for the required period of time (5 years)
