Job title:Security Officer
Location: Belgravia
Duration: 2-4 week, temporary position
Hours: 7am-7pm
Pay: £14 - £15 an hour
The role:
- Secure and protect all company property and vet physical access into and out of the facility by checking identification and complying with policies and procedures
- Ensure the highest level of hospitality and service
- Remain fully aware of and adhere to all of company policies and procedures at all times
- Issue temporary access cards to vendors as necessary and regularly audit access cards to ensure that all are accounted for
- Monitor all employee check-ins and appropriately track/document as it relates to dogs, bicycles, fire wardens, injuries, etc.
- Act as a central source of information for employees, visitors, and vendors
- Oversee all activity during operational hours and events (nights, weekends, etc.)
- Monitor cameras and door prop alarms
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, displaying accuracy and attention to detail in both verbal and written communications
- Speak in a free, warm, and engaging manner with client employees and guests while effectively responding to any inquiries
- Appropriately communicate via two-way radio, phone, and electronic texting applications
- Regularly liaise between onsite building staff and externally contractors
- Appropriately respond to emergency situations (i.e., elevator shutdowns and/or entrapments, fire alarms)
- Conduct proper incident reporting
- Perform Fire Watch duties as needed
- Conduct regular inspections and checklists as it pertains to fire and life safety, onsite vendors, unsafe conditions, etc
- Act as members of the Fire Safety Team (floor wardens, deputy wardens, and searchers) and mobilize team members for events and drills
- Perform additional duties as needed
Experience, qualities and skill sets required
- Must have previous security experience within a corporate office setting
- SIA Licence
- Strong communication skills
- Experience interacting with senior stakeholders and VIPs
