Security Officer

We are seeking an exceptional Security Officer to join our elite team based at the world-famous Stonehenge site in Wiltshire.
As a member of our Stonehenge security team, you will be helping protect the site for generations to come, guarding the monument and Visitors Centre, as well as ensuring the safety of English Heritage staff, visitors and colleagues.

_This is a UK based role. The successful candidate must be located ideally within 25-30 miles of the Amesbury region. We are not in a position to offer a work permit or visa._
Vacancies
Security Officer Monument - 42 hours a week pro-rata across the year, seasonal night shift roster; 5 shifts on, 2 off, 5 shifts on, 3 shifts off.

What we need
Current and active SIA licence (either Security Guard, Door Supervisor or Close Protection)
Previous experience in static security work beneficial but not essential
Be physically fit and able to work in a wide variety of environments in varying adverse weather conditions
Ability to remain calm in all circumstances
Have physical intervention skills that may be required occasionally at very short notice
Must be incredibly diligent and act with integrity at all times
Must have good eyesight as the role will include spotting people approaching the site in all levels of light
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to use own initiative to assess situations and respond appropriately
A good timekeeper and able to plan own workload
Smart, well-presented and confident
Full 5-year checkable work history to BS7858 standard
Must be prepared to work day and night shifts which will including weekends and bank holidays in line with on a shift rotation.
The role
Working as part of a team that includes Venture Security and English Heritage
Providing a professional physical security presence
Undertaking thorough inspections and patrols across the site
Controlling entry to the site and challenging trespassers as required
Monitoring in-house CCTV
Meeting and greeting visitors and representing both Venture Security and English Heritage in an exemplary manner
Conflict management
Recording and reporting incidents, security and safety concerns through operational software
Liaising with English Heritage Operations team as appropriate
Maintaining excellent communications, both written and verbal
Providing holiday and sickness cover within the team as required
