Job description

Operate as a Trust security lead with the freedom to operate within your area of expertise. Identify, design, develop and test new and innovative Security related concepts / models / practices / products and equipment in order to ensure effective security arrangements, compliance with legislation and improve Trust performance. Provide and receive complex, specialist information and support as part of delivering security portfolio and specific security related projects. Audit, review and evaluate the Security performance of the organisation, prepare and present in written and orals reports. Identify trends, areas of risk and develop, implement and manage plans to make improvements including security related training and control measures. Where applicable complete business cases for review and agreement by the head of security prior to submission through Trust governance processes. Have a detailed understanding of and keep / maintain up to date records with respect to existing security infrastructure and controls. Work with internal stakeholders to manage existing contractual arrangements, ensuring equipment remains operational, compliant and value for money. Work with internal and external stakeholders to devise and implement plans / projects to deliver physical security infrastructure and controls. Ensuring you operate within agreed governance structures and that activity is captured within work / actions plans. Actively promote quality Security Systems/processes across the whole organisation and range of security activities, including refurbishments and new builds. Provide key stakeholders with timely information and cost effective compliance solutions where there are changes in legislation and or good practice standards. Use knowledge and a working understanding of good practice and security standards, keeping abreast of changes to industry standards, regulations, and best practice to ensure the Trust is compliant as required by the HSE, CQC and the NHSEI. Design, plan, implement and evaluate security learning and development programmes. Participate in induction and training programmes as required and deliver security awareness sessions for stakeholders. Provide specialist security related training and undertake the supervision of staff working on security related tasks / work streams Analyse and interpret complex data relevant to security performance. Present in written and orals reports. Identify trends and areas of risk. Present and compare a range of legislatively compliant options, provide specialist judgements and advice on options to facilitate plans to make improvements including security related training and control measures. To lead the planning, implementation and management of physical security measures and controls, including access control and CCTV, through effective audit, risk assessment and stakeholder collaboration. Respond to the findings / recommendations of investigations of potential and/or actual security breaches and or crimes. Work with key stakeholders to devise and implement crime prevention programmes and security initiatives. Identify, adopt and implement effective security risk management of potential threats, vulnerabilities. Including accurately recording assessment of risk and the impact of actions taken in mitigating risk Undertake the review and updating of relevant security policy and procedure. Effectively communicate policies, processes and guidance to stakeholders and embed security culture at every level. Adopt an analytical problem-solving approach, making risk-based decisions, communicating, influencing and contributing to the required business change. Authorised signatory with the ability to authorise payments to contractors, suppliers, sign off direct labour costs.
