Job description

We are looking for a committed Classroom Teacher to join a secondary SEMH School based in North Bristol. The successful candidate will be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in their class, ensuring equality of opportunity for all. They will work proactively and effectively in collaboration with learners, parents/carers, governors, other staff, and external agencies in the best interests of pupils. This role is start ASAP on a longterm basis with the chance of going permanent for the right person.

Day to Day of the role:


Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subjects you teach.
Prepare and develop teaching materials, teaching programmes, and pastoral arrangements.
Be accountable for the attainment, progress, and outcomes of pupils you teach.
Plan teaching and differentiate appropriately, demonstrating knowledge of how pupils learn.
Use a range of assessment strategies to set challenging learning objectives and monitor learners’ progress.
Establish a safe, purposeful, and stimulating environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect.
Manage classes effectively, using appropriate strategies to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
Be a positive role model and demonstrate the positive attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils.
Participate in the leadership of a curriculum subject and contribute to the school’s pastoral systems.


Required Skills & Qualifications:


Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in a teaching role.
Strong understanding of curriculum delivery and the ability to engage a diverse range of pupils.
Knowledge of current educational issues, strategies for raising attainment, and effective teaching methods.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school.
