SEMH Learning Mentor
Location – St Helens, UK
EdNet: The Education Network is currently seeking an experienced SEMH Learning Mentor for a very well respected EBD School in the central St Helens area. The post will commence as soon as the right candidate is sourced for the role, and will be on an ongoing basis, 5 days per week. You will have experience of, and enjoy working with students who regularly present challenging behaviour in relation to their learning. This is an exciting opportunity to work as an SEMH Learning Mentor within a very pro-active school, with strong community links, an excellent reputation, and an ethos to encourage students to enjoy their learning environment.
Other similar roles are available in specific SEND schools in Warrington, Runcorn-as well as mainstream SEND Departments in both the Primary & Secondary areas.
You will work under the guidance of teaching staff, to support the student in and out of the classroom. You should have good communication skills as you will have to liaise between both the student and class teachers.
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience of working in a similar environment, ideally another EBD School
- A willingness to participate in relevant training and development opportunities
- Be keen to learn and develop professionally
- Be able to work on their own initiative
- Be pro-active team members, committed to raising standards and achievements
- Have a passion for education and raising the achievement of all children
