An outstanding and unique secondary SEMH special school in Kent is seeking an enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher for Key Stage 3/Key Stage 4. This role is a maternity cover position, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to make a significant impact on students with complex needs, including SEMH and Autism.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated mathematics lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students with SEMH and Autism.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the numeracy skills of students, tailored to their individual needs.
- Collaborate with the maths department to ensure the curriculum is purposeful and appropriate for the students.
- Monitor and assess students’ progress, adapting teaching methods to facilitate learning and development.
- Contribute to the school’s ethos of continuous improvement by bringing innovative ideas and exemplary practices to the role.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Experience in teaching mathematics to students with SEMH and Autism is highly desirable.
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons that cater to a range of abilities and needs.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching mathematics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
