We are currently recruiting for a SEMH Teacher to join our team and work within Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Schools in the Wandsworth area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver High-Quality Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges.
- Build Strong Relationships: Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, providing support and guidance to help them overcome barriers to learning.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with other professionals, including teaching assistants, psychologists, and support staff, to create a holistic and supportive learning environment.
- Implement Behaviour Management Strategies: Utilize effective behaviour management techniques to create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting a culture of respect and cooperation.
- Assessment and Reporting: Regularly assess student progress, providing detailed reports and feedback to parents, guardians, and relevant stakeholders.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in SEMH education, actively engaging in continuous professional development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Specialism in SEMH or experience working with students with challenging behaviour.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEN provisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
