Semi Senior Accountant

We are currently supporting a very reputable, well-establish and growing Accountancy practice based in Reading. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, organised, flexible and an experienced Accountant. This is a permanent, full time position.

Main responsibility

• Dealing with a mixed portfolio of clients
• Responsible for preparing the accounts for Limited Companies, LLPs, Sole Traders and Partnerships
• Corporation tax and preparing and filing of personal tax returns .
• Some coaching and mentoring of junior staff

Job Description:

• Preparation of statutory accounts, reports & commentaries for all business entities
• Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
• Preparation of Management Accounts
• Dealing with, and advising on personal tax issues, ensuring compliance with tax legislation and filing personal tax returns
• Review of management accounts for bookkeeping clients and/or processing, training etc.
• Mentoring and coaching of less experienced members of staff as required
• Ensuring procedures, policies, legislation and regulations are correctly followed and complied with
• Undertake any other duties which may be required by management commensurate to the role

Skills & Experience required:

• AAT qualified and either qualified or part qualified ACCA/ACA
• Previous practice experience is essential
• Experience and working knowledge of Personal Tax
• Comfortable dealing with clients queries in a professional, timely yet commercial manner
• Ability to work quickly, accurately and to deadlines
• Strong IT skills including a good working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and Word
• Good knowledge of Xero, Sage and Quickbooks
• Excellent customer service skills as we always look for ways to exceed customer satisfaction
