Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen within Building Services at City of York Council for a Semi-Skilled Tradesperson with experience in housing repairs and is able to provide a high-quality repairs service to our customers alongside administrative support.

You will be working as part of a team helping to provide an efficient responsive repairs service to our customers in and around the York area.

You will be one the first points of contact to our many customers, dealing with a large volume of reactive building repairs.

You will be required to have understanding of all types of construction work along with the understanding and communication skills in dealing with CYC customers and the general public.

A high attention to detail with repairs carried out in a timely and high-quality standard and delivered in a professional and efficient manner.

Training will be provided in using the IT system that appoints work daily and records productivity of your working week.

You will also be required to liaise with contractors and tradespersons and as you deal with customers and arrange for materials and follow on works around your workload.

You’ll have the ability to deliver a consistent positive customer experience, even when under pressure.
